Made to measure
Discover the masters of Impressionism during this private tour of the Orsay Museum (musée d’Orsay). Following a chronological order, we will explore Art’s evolution from Academism (Ingres, Gérôme) to Realism (Courbet), and how outdoors painting influenced the work of the Impressionists.
We will discover the main masterpieces of Manet, Monet Renoir, Degas while I explain the pioneering technics used by the painters and how the impressionist art revolution happened in Paris in the 19th century. We will then identify the later transformations introduced by Neo-Impressionism (Pointillism) looking at the works of Seurat and Signac and finish the tour admiring the Post-impressionist works of Van Gogh and Gauguin.
Paintings hanging change often in Orsay due to exhibit loan and the tour route is subject to contingencies. Nevertheless you will see most iconic artworks during the tour. You can also request to see a specific artwork or one section of the museum.
