One of the oldest neighbourhoods of Paris, Le Marais is a former marshland which turned gradually into an aristocratic area. During this tour you will discover traces of a medieval Templar fortress, the jewish Pletzl famed for its eateries and Art Nouveau synagogue, 17th century private mansions housing museums and libraries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will admire the aristocratic architecture from the 16th through the 18th century, looking at facades and entering courtyards of the Hotel de Sens, Hotel de Carnavalet, Hotel de Sully and Hotel de Soubise. We will stop at the royal square, Place des Vosges, where  I will tell you stories of fatal duels and high brow salons.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

 After being neglected during the 19th century, le Marais has been restored to its old glamour and is now a fashionable area with designer stores and trendy restaurants. Although three hours are not enough to evoke the tumultuous history of the district, you will uncover many of its varied faces, aristocratic, gay, fashionable, jewish and you can always request to visit a specific place.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  4. Once payment has cleared, you receive your confirmation email with your journey details: date, time, meeting point in Paris, and other practical information <\/li>\n\n\n\n

    Cancellations made at least 30 days prior to the tour date are eligible for a 100% refund or 100% future travel credit (less ticket, reservation, and applicable service fees). Cancellations made between 29 days and 10 days prior to the tour date are eligible for a 50% refund or 50% future travel credit, less any ticket, reservation, and\/or applicable service fees. All sales are final within 10 days of the tour date. Venue tickets and reservation fees are non refundable and non transferable as they are time-stamped and nominative. In the event that you request a tour reschedule, I will need to purchase and charge for new tickets \/ reservation fees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
